1.9 - released on 02/11/09EMAN1.9 is a bugfix release.
EMAN1.9 is a bugfix release, intended as a final release of EMAN1 as it is gradually deprecated in favor of EMAN2. There were no 'major' changes in this release, strictly a large number of bugfixes and small improvements made over the last 2 years. The fixes are substantial enough that EMAN1.8 users should definitely upgrade to this version. For MacOS release, we only provide 32 bit installer(i386, ppc). If you need EMAN work on 64 bit MacOS 10.5 (x86_64, ppc64), please coontact Steve Ludtke. The windows release only support Python 2.5.
Installation quickstart (binary, linux):
* Download the appropriate binary
* rm -rf EMAN (remove old version)
* tar -xvzf file.tgz
* cd EMAN
* ./eman-installer (then follow instructions on screen)
* Run 'qtconfig' (not part of EMAN) and select 'Motif' GUI style (others may work too)
The Windows version has a standard installer. The OSX version includes a README file.
