NXplotNd Gallery
This page contains examples and screenshots illustrating various features of the program. Just click on a topic. Please note that pictures have been converted to gif format and animations have been converted to .mpg format (for space and compatibility). The unconverted pictures look significantly better (full 24 bits).
In some places the save file from NXplotNd is also available. If you click on
, and you have ND installed, it should start up with the associated plot.
Animations are all in MPEG format. The conversion to MPEG has degraded the frame quality quite a bit, but they're still watchable. They also look better at higher frame rates (~15 fps).
Sample plots for each module:
Various animations:
- mand.mpg This is a density plot of the mandelbrot set which zooms in on a particular point.
- mand2.mpg This is a 3d animation of the above (on a log scale). Conversion to .mpg decreased the quality substantially, but it still looks decent.
- orb3p.mpg This animation spins around the 3p orbitals (as seen above in the volume contour section) but now they are semi-transparent.
- cube.mpg This is the charge cube as seen in the volume contour section above. Now the level at which the contour is drawn is changing in time. This allows you to visualize the entire volume.
- cat.mpg Animation of my cat's face mapped onto a surface with moving waves.
Screenshots (a bit out of date):
- Sreeenshot #1 - Rendered 3d (color) volume contour and some associated inspectors.
- Screenshot #2 - Some 2d and 3d views (not much color), etc ...
If you make any neat plots with ND that you are willing to share, please send pictures or .ndenv files to me and I will add them to the gallery!
